I took a trip to Airdrie today to watch Caley Jags reserves play Celtic reserves. I managed to get enough photos to put together a slideshow. Pity about the score though, 7-1 to Celtic. The day ended well however with a 3-0 win at home against Gretna by the first team. Celtic pictures available here.

The album from last Tuesday's reserves match, against Hibernian, has now been added to the site. Alan Morgan, who set up Craig Brewster's winning goal yesterday also set up the two goals in the reserve game. The match report differs from the official site's report with respect to the timing of the goals. This site has the correct times. Pictures available here.
The Hearts' photographs have been uploaded today. The majority of the pictures were taken by Peter Paul. A few were by caleyjags.com guest photographer The Mantis. Pictures available here.
Quite a few problems this week with OneandOne, the people who host this site. I managed to go over the 2GB limit that I've been allocated (a few times recently). New customers get 4GB. They wanted an extra £60 a year to increase the webspace I use. They finally agreed to increase the space at no additional cost. I expect to move this site in the future as I have unlimited space with Chadan.

I was in hospital yesterday undergoing surgery. Still managed to get a photo in the hospital. That's me with an oxygen mask on! So, one day late in getting Saturday's photos on line. We always try to get the Saturday pictures online before lunchtime Monday, the peak time for visitors to the site. A slideshow/gallery for the Celtic game has been added, here.

Like most of the non photographic parts of the site, this section has not been updated for some time. However it's time to give it another go. Over the past few days I've spent some time revamping the site for this season. The photo galleries have changed the most. I've moved away from the white background to a template consisting of shades of grey with white text. I've stuck with the caleyjags.com identity mark (logo) but have had to give it a background that allows the black characters to be viewed. (otherwise the site would be called c l y a s.com). The photos in the album/gallery now resize to fit various browser window sizes. Higher resolution pictures can now be uploaded and displayed. The largest pictures are displayed in the slideshow, when the thumbnails are turned off. All the new pictures will have a non-intrusive copyright watermark attached. As in the past visitors can e-mail requests for copies of pictures uploaded. Normally we send out a full resolution printable jpeg file for personal non-commercial use. We also provide free images to ICT FC and other clubs for use in matchday programmes and other publicity material. I've also removed links to the Forum, 3-D Galleries etc. All placeholder pages have now been removed... no more Lorem ipsum dolor and not before time I hear you say. The style sheet has also been changed so that the main site is now formatted similar to the new slideshow pages. I think the grey background shows off many of the photographs much better that the previous white and pale blue background. I've also added more advertising to the site to fill in the blank space and perhaps recover a (very) small fraction of what has been expended in producing the site and photographs. I managed to corrupt my local copy of the web site last night. It took just under ten hours to download a copy of the site which consisted of over 1.3GB of data. Two of the new Slideshow format galleries have now been uploaded to the site, one for Dundee United (here) and one for the Hibs game (here).

A strip design section has been added to the site. A facility has been added to that section which allows visitors the opportunity to create their own strip designs for the team. The resulting designs can then be submitted for display on the site.

A site map has been produced. This feature is accessible via the navigation panel at the bottom of each page of the standard site pages (ie not on pop up windows such as photo albums or in the separate Forum area). Note that it is a site map and not a navigation center so there are no active links to the site pages.

I had to remove the video files. Although they were low quality and short exerts lasting a few seconds, permission is needed to post them. I'll need to find out what is allowed and what is not. Just to be safe I've removed all the links to the videos, even clips taken of fans away from the game by myself. As this site attracts such a low number of visitors and is not for profit I don't expect to be in a situation where that sort of material can be made available in the future.

A football related Web News Feed has been added to the left hand side navigation bar on the main news page. This now provides links to other web sites such as Sky, BBC, and Soccernet. I split out the news section and created new template pages. Put out the first story on caleyjags.com. The story is placed within the News/ Other News section. The article reports on Mike Latham and his groundhopping.
Added two videos taken at the BT video shoot.
Added the first picture album. This can be found in the Photo Albums/Events section. This contains 136 photographs taken at Caledonian stadium last Wednesday during the video shoot for the BT promotion. This is the complete set of photographs taken 72 on film and 64 on digital media. As they were intended to capture the flavor of the day and show as much of the support as possible I did not leave any out although a few are very similar and a couple have partially obscured lenses (fingers in the way!).
Mended a broken link to the external style sheet from the video index page. It should now display correctly. Sorted a link on the style sheet, to display the rotating logo to the bottom left of all the main pages.

Added new videos from last Saturday's game against Raith Rovers, mostly featuring Mackie. An IP address counter was added to the video page to get some feel for real number of visitors accessing the site. 320X240 images added to another 15 pages. This news page was put together and added to the site.

Video Section populated with external links. MPEG files left on ictfc.co.uk for the time being. This will maintain any links visitors have saved before this date. Web site published to caleyjags.com and came on line this evening. The main structure is in place with the majority of navigation links in place. This will allow visitors to get a feel for the site and an idea of what content to expect as the site get built up. Pages with no content, at this time, have placeholder text and image blocks in place. This makes it easier to add content at a later date. Hope no-one tries to make sense of it!
Initial pages that have some content added, are the video page, contacts page and home page. The contact page has an active feedback link. The majority of pages now have a 320x240 image in place. An external style sheet has been used with a template to maintain the look and feel across the site. No attempt has been made to base the design heavily on club colours. Readability, ease of use, and maintainability were the priorities applied to the design.
