Scottish Womens' Football League Division 2

12th December 2004

Caley Thistle Ladies 9-1 East Kilbride

Caley Thistle’s women entered their winter shutdown with a 10 th consecutive victory last weekend.

A devastating display in the art of goal scoring from razor sharp Leanne Calder was the main difference between the sides as she bagged an amazing seven goals to take her tally to 43 in 14 games.

The home side took the lead on eight minutes when Calder netted from six yards following a goalmouth scramble and seven minutes later she netted her second with a blistering drive from the edge of the box. Calder completed her hat trick when she bulleted home a fine header from a Lorraine Cadden cross before Eilidh Mackay made it 4-0 at the interval when she followed up to score after the keeper had saved a Cadden drive.

East Kilbride pulled a goal back at the start of the second half before Calder rounded the keeper to make it 5-1 on 52 minutes. Calder was wreaking havoc in the visitors defence and she netted her 5 th on 62 minutes after another mazy run and she then completed her double hat trick on the 70 th minute mark.

With 12 minutes left player of the match Calder netted her seventh goal and with 5 minutes remaining she beat three defenders and unselfishly squared the ball to young substitute Sarah Main who scored easily to complete the scoring.
